Recycled Obsolescence - Record Player

This project reimagines outdated technology by constructing a functional record player from discarded electronics. By salvaging components from obsolete devices, it challenges the perception of e-waste as useless, transforming technological debris into a statement on sustainability and craftsmanship. Through the concept of “recycled obsolescence,” the project critiques the rapid cycle of innovation and disposability, highlighting the hidden potential in discarded materials. The imperfections—mismatched parts, visible repairs—become marks of resilience, emphasizing the beauty of reuse. More than just a functional device, this record player embodies a shift in perspective, urging us to rethink waste, value, and our evolving relationship with technology.
